Revisiting AJ Green and Jalen Ramsey's Insane Fight in 2017

This offseason, NFL circles have been buzzing about A.J. Green's future with the Cincinnati Bengals after his free agency culminated in the Bengals slapping a franchise tag on him. Back in fall of 2017, those circles were buzzing about Green for a different reason entirely. Week 9 ended early for him and Jalen Ramsey after two quarters of chirping led to a violent outburst by Cincy's star wideout.

Ramsey had held Green to a single catch for only six yards. The coverage was anything but casual, as he trash-talked up and down the field, progressively getting more and more animated. Green responded in kind, calling out the entire Jaguars defense at one point. On the penultimate play of the first half, Ramsey shoved Green. That's when Green unloaded 14 minutes and 50 seconds of frustration on the star cornerback, putting him in a headlock and slamming him to the ground.

To this day, it qualifies as one of the greatest cat fights in NFL history. The fight led to a pair of ejections for the players. Despite being suplexed from behind, Ramsey was told that the official thought he threw a punch. The trash talk he laid out that day was a precursor to the flood of chirping Ramsey has done in the years since.

For all of Green's efforts, the Bengals were awarded a 23-7 whooping. There's no telling how that game might have played out differently if the pair were still on the field.
