Red Sox Will Have Best Opportunity to Turn Their Season Around Over the Next Month

The Boston Red Sox had a rough start to their 2019 season, but with a week before the trade deadline, they've pulled themselves closer in the AL East standings. Despite being 10.5 games behind the division-leading New York Yankees, the Red Sox have a prime opportunity to regain ground.

In the next four weeks, starting with their series against the Yankees, Boston will play 19 of their next 26 games at Fenway Park. The time is now.

Any team would kill for the chance to play two-and-a-half weeks worth of games in front of their home crowd.

Interestingly enough, the Red Sox have a 24-25 record at home and are 32-22 on the road. That can't continue all season, can it? They've had a bizarre schedule thus far, so perhaps returning home for this long and establishing some normalcy will help them turn it up.

With the Red Sox not out of the playoff picture and looking to defend their World Series crown, expect the team to be active at the July 31 trade deadline. Boston's main flaw is relief pitching and the team is reportedly interested in Ken Giles and Kirby Yates.

Boston will look to utilize their home field advantage as they begin their four-game series against the Yankees on Thursday.
