People seem to forget that 2018 World Series hero Mitch Moreland is still on the free agent market.

After the past three years with the Boston Red Sox, which included a World Series win,, Moreland hit free agency after the regular season. According to reports, he might be staying in Beantown.

In 2019, Moreland was the Red Sox's starting first baseman until injuries started to hamper his campaign. In 91 games he hit .252 with 19 home runs and 58 RBI. In his four playoff series he's played for Boston, he hit .333 with five RBI, including a very clutch home run in Game 4 of the 2018 World Series.

If he were to re-sign, he might be nothing but a depth player, as Michael Chavis showed great promise at first base in Moreland's absence last season. Although Moreland's agent said he's willing to play some left field, the Red Sox outfield is way too full to put him out there.

A reunion would likely make Boston fans happy, but how beneficial would it really be for the team?
