The Los Angeles Rams acquired Jalen Ramsey from the Jaguars earlier this month, but that was far from the only shift coming to their secondary.

After sending Marcus Peters to Baltimore, the Rams have offloaded another veteran defensive back. According to Adam Schefter, veteran DB Aqib Talib has been dealt to the Miami Dolphins in a move right before the deadline.

Talib and a fifth-round pick are reportedly headed to the Dolphins and the Rams will recoup a future draft pick from Miami.

With Talib dealing with an injury, his status for the remainder of the season was up in the air. The 33-year-old DB is in the final season of a six-year, $57 million deal he signed with the Broncos in 2014.

The Rams were clearly looking to offload his contract and found a suitor in Miami, who will effectively get a free fifth-round pick. There's a strong chance the Dolphins simply let Talib walk when his contract expires at season's end.

Talib carries a $4.235 million cap hit in 2019, money which L.A. is expected to use towards re-signing Ramsey after the season.

Injuries have marred the career of the 12-year veteran, who has played in just five games in 2019, breaking up two passes and recording 14 tackles. He played just eight games in 2018 while dealing with an ankle injury.
