With the NFL trade deadline approaching, contending teams are looking to shore up the weaknesses on their roster. The Baltimore Ravens did just that on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Ravens have acquired star cornerback Marcus Peters from the Los Angeles Rams.

Heading to the Rams in the deal is Kenny Young. Young, a second-year middle linebacker, has only started six games in his NFL career, including three in 2019. This season, he's recorded 13 tackles and a forced fumble, as well as three tackles for loss.

It's a surprising move from the Rams, considering they just placed veteran CB Aqib Talib on the IR with a rib injury, so they weren't exactly loaded in terms of secondary depth.

In 2019, Peters has logged two interceptions, four passes defensed, a fumble recovery and 14 tackles. He's also scored a defensive touchdown.

The Ravens have struggled to defend the pass this year, surrendering 269.5 passing yards per game, the eighth-worst rank in the league, so the addition of Peters could certainly help improve the secondary.

Peters joined the Rams via trade from the Chiefs ahead of the 2018 season. In his Rams tenure, he logged five interceptions and 12 passes defensed.
