3 Players Who Won't Be on the Spurs Roster Next Year if This Season Gets Canceled

If the 2019-2020 NBA Season is fully cancelled, it may be a blessing in disguise for the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs were 27-36 and twelfth in the Western Conference before the season was put on hold, on track to end their record 22 straight playoff appearances.

If the season is cancelled, it could be time for the Spurs to begin a rumored rebuild.

These three players are likely to not be returning to San Antonio if the 2019-2020 season does not resume.

3. Marco Belinelli

Marco Belinelli no longer resembles the player he was during the Spurs in their 2013-2014 NBA Championship season. Belinelli is scoring just 5.8 points per game, his lowest mark since his rookie season in 2007-2008. He will be a free agent this offseason, and with young wings Derrick White, Lonnie Walker IV and Keldon Johnson on the roster, the Spurs will likely not re-sign Belinelli.

2. Bryn Forbes

Bryn Forbes put up solid numbers this year for the Spurs, scoring 11.2 points per game and a 38.8% mark from three, but his place in the San Antonio's future plans is unclear. He will be 27 by the start of next season, and his place in the starting lineup has taken away the chance to see Dejounte Murray and Derrick White in the backcourt together. Forbes will be a free agent this summer, and could easily leave the Spurs for a contender.

1. DeMar DeRozan

DeMar DeRozan is yet another aging wing who could be on his way out of San Antonio. After seeing the Spurs fail to turn this season around, going 4-5 after the All-Star break, the team may choose to change course. If DeRozan doesn't sign a contact extension with the Spurs -- which it's unclear if they will even offer -- DeRozan could decline his player option for 2020-2021 and head elsewhere.
