Plane Flies Above Etihad Stadium With Racist Banner During Manchester City vs Burnley Match
By Michael Luciano

Burnley's matchup on the road against Pep Guardiola and Manchester City unfortunately served as the stage for racists to show off their opposition to the Black Lives Matter protests cropping up across the soccer landscape. A plane with an attached banner ad reading "White Lives Matter Burnley" on it flew over the Etihad just before kick off in a truly disheartening display.

Considering the lengths that the Premier League has gone to to foster an environment of progress and acceptance, even going so far as to print "Black Lives Matter" on the back of each and every jersey, this is a very concerning sight to see.
This is clearly not indicative of the Burnley fanbase as a whole, as diehard Clarets fans are expressing how disgusting they are that their club has such reprehensible supporters willing to spout their hateful opinions so freely.

Between the fact that some Burnley fans are so comfortable expressing their racism and bigotry and the fact that an advertising company thought it would be a good idea to allow this message to be broadcast in this fashion, this is a complete mess.
