New York Mets slugger Pete Alonso has done his very best to boost the spirits of the fan base amid the coronavirus crisis. Whether it be taking the time to thank healthcare workers for their courageous efforts or surprising sick supporters via Skype, the 25-year-old superstar has done it all. He even penned a heartfelt message to the Queens faithful a few weeks back. Well, the folks over at SportsCenter went out of their way to morph Alonso's letter into in incredible montage that highlights the Mets' push towards the postseason in the second half of last season. Of course, it was narrated by the Polar Bear.

New York ended up falling short, but this clip brought out all of the goosebumps, and it further proves that the Mets are in good hands with Alonso presumably becoming the face of the franchise...if he isn't already.

Throwing fandom aside, this is exactly the type of content that baseball fans need with the 2020 regular season still suspended.
