Even with the New England Patriots out of the playoffs, wide reciever Julian Edelman still found a way to make his way into the news ... for the wrong reasons. The veteran star was arrested on vandalism charges Saturday after he reportedly jumped on the hood of a vehicle in Beverly Hills.
With the details still murky, we at least know who he was with before it all went down. Edelman was hanging out with Paul Pierce and former Patriots teammate Danny Amendola, as evidenced by a photo posted on the Boston Celtics legend's Instagram.
That provides at least a little bit of information as to what Edelman was doing.
But at the end of the day, it's still an incredibly bizarre story with plenty of holes left to fill. What happened between this photo and the arrest itself is likely history.
It's just so out of character for a Patriots player, especially one of Edelman's standing, to act in such a manner off the field. This is an organization known for its discipline, after all, but perhaps this is what happens when a typical Patriots season is cut short.
