Pats UDFA Signing Switching From Offense to Defense is Low-Key Offseason Storyline to Watch

The brilliance and madness of New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick knows no limits. The man is the NFL's version of Houdini, ready to pull a fast one on opposing teams and their coaching staffs.
Need further proof? As it turns out, the Patriots signed Ohio State tight end RaShod Berry as an undrafted free agent last month. Was this the replacement for Gronk? No way. But, by the looks of things, it doesn't even appear Berry will get the chance to catch the ball from Jarrett Stidham next season.
Interesting when looking at Rashod Berry's profile. List's himself as OLB for the Patriots. Everything I saw when he signed had him listed at TE. I know that he started off on defense at OSU before switching to TE his last few years @tkyles39 @DougKyed @ezlazar pic.twitter.com/Sn0J8vqPG3

What's going on here, Bill? Berry suited up on the defensive line for OSU during his first year in Columbus, but spent the majority of his time blocking and catching balls on offense. Yet with his 6-3, 263 pound frame, Belichick and Co. clearly envision him being a monster on defense as an outside 'backer.
While he only recorded seven tackles in his OSU career, that's not going to scare away the Pats from giving him a shot on D.
Berry normally wouldn't steal headlines for the Pats, but keep in mind this is a position change that has flown under the radar. What else does Belichick have lined up? We can't wait to find out.
