In the New England Patriots's first draft without Tom Brady, they have decided to load up on more defensive stars.

After using the 37th overall pick on Lenoir-Rhyne safety Kyle Dugger, New England took a Senior Bowl star in Michigan linebacker Josh Uche with the No. 60 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Uche played sparingly at Michigan, a byproduct of his rawness, but when he's on, it looks like he was born to play linebacker in New England's defense.

Explosive and strong enough to bowl over offensive tackles, Uche makes his mark as a coverage linebacker, as the range he was able to cover and playmaking instincts he showed off are both exemplary.

If you want to play linebacker for Bill Belichick, as evidenced by the success of Jamie Collins and Kyle Van Noy, you need to be able to play off-ball and rush the passer on the edge. Uche might be the player in the draft that performs both of those tasks equally well, making him an ideal Belichick selection.
