On Thursday, it was reported that New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung had been indicted on cocaine possession charges.

That's serious news and something that will put the Patriots in a tough spot when it comes to their defensive backfield. However, when releasing their statement on the matter this afternoon, New England gave us the usual bland response that we can always expect from this organization.

It's great news that they're aware of the reports that have come out against Chung, and of course, they won't comment on the matter until after due process has taken place. THERE WILL BE NO QUESTIONS.

We dare someone to ask Bill Belichick about this after practice. We NEED that reaction. "Did you see the statement we released? Uh, yeah, that's all I have to say" (followed by a death stare).

Chung will be arraigned next Thursday, so perhaps more information will come out then.

The 32-year-old suffered a broken arm in the Super Bowl that ended up requiring surgery. He's still under contract through the 2021 season, but this off-the-field drama could cost him in a big way.
