We Should All Start Using Pat Narduzzi's Really Gross Nickname for the NCAA Transfer Portal

It goes without saying that Pittsburgh head coach Pat Narduzzi is can't-miss television when he steps in front of the microphone, but we're not so sure we ever expected this sort of quote from him.

After practice on Wednesday, the 53-year-old coach was discussing the NCAA's recently-instilled database for players itching for a move away from their current program -- the ever-polarizing transfer portal. Narduzzi went as far as to come up with a new nickname for it.

In Narduzzi's eyes, the transfer portal should be tabbed "the ugly toilet portal."

Strangely enough, Narduzzi's bizarre conclusion came in response to a question about wideout Tre Tipton being granted a sixth year of eligibility from the NCAA.

"When you look at that transfer portal going around the country, it’s ugly," said the Panthers boss. "They really should call it the ugly toilet portal. And it’s not good for a lot of kids. We’ve got NFL guys that come back who could just take off and leave and there’s going to be 40 or 50 of them that go undrafted when they should’ve stayed. But our guys are smart and I think they like what’s going on.”

Is it outlandish to say that we should all adopt this nickname? Is it gross? No doubt about it. Is it accurate? You better believe it.

To say that the transfer portal has a world of critics would be understatement, and it's now fair to say that Narduzzi's description of it is the most distinctive one yet.
