After missing most of the 2019 campaign with a biceps injury, Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Lane Taylor has agreed to make a selfless move for the better of the organization.

Per NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the 30-year-old vet has restructured his contract and will earn a $100,000 signing bonus and a total salary of $1.5 million for the 2020 season. Taylor is entering the final year of his contract with the organization and the move will free up approximately $3 million in cap space.

Given how drastically Taylor's efficiency in protection has dropped in recent seasons, this news is hardly a surprise. Throw in the fact that the biceps injury limited him to just two games last year and this was almost a no-brainer move from the Packers.

The Oklahoma State product isn't exactly walking into a definitive starting role in 2020. It's largely expected that 2019 second-round pick Elgton Jenkins will give him a run for his money after an impressive rookie campaign in which he made 14 starts and received a respectable 69.9 grade from Pro Football Focus.

The question now is what do the Packers do with that extra $3 million in cap space? There are certainly some intriguing free agent options still out there. Let's see if Brian Gutekunst makes another move in the near future.
