Ole Miss Apologizes for Dog Peeing Penalty That Helped Ruin Chances in Egg Bowl

Thursday night's rivalry showdown in the Egg Bowl between Ole Miss and Mississippi State was easily one of the best games in college football this year.

The game went down to the wire, as Ole Miss receiver Elijah Moore scored a last-minute touchdown, and chose to celebrate in a very disrespectful way.

Well, karma certainly does exist. After this dog-peeing celebration, the Rebels were given a 15-yard penalty on the extra point. This distance was enough for the kicker to miss the point after that would have tied the game, causing them to lose in an embarrassing fashion.

Clearly mortified, Ole Miss sent out this apology for the celebration.

The Rebels AD Keith Carter and head coach Matt Luke cited Moore "losing his emotions" in the moment. Moore said he regrets letting everyone involved in the program down, but that one moment doesn't reflect who he is.

Yes, Ole Miss is mortified at Moore for doing that, but the end result -- losing to Mississippi State -- certainly influenced their reaction.
