Jones confirmed the news through a warm statement on Twitter on Wednesday, shortly after The Athletic reporter Jason Kersey first announced it.
#Sooners receiver Mykel Jones has entered the transfer portal. He'll be a grad transfer. He's caught 33 passes for 495 yards and one touchdown during his career.

Though it is unclear where Jones will transfer, he visited the campuses of Ole Miss, Alabama, and LSU, the latter just about a 90 minute drive from his home, before committing to Oklahoma in 2016.
Of the 33 catches and 495 receiving yards over his collegiate career, 29 and 416 of them came over the course of his freshman and sophomore seasons. On the flipside, Jones only played a combined four games over the last two seasons. He had also played in each of Oklahoma's bowl games during his time there, though he did not make a catch in any of those games.
Jones still definitely has the talent to play at the 4-star level at which he was recruited. In his sophomore year, he had nearly 20 yards per catch. Though with a smaller sample size, he did the same thing in his last two seasons.
