Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide might not be piling up the historically dominant recruiting classes they're used to, but that doesn't mean they can't steal a 4-star from the likes of Oklahoma every now and again.

4-star safety Brian Branch, who hails from Tyrone, Georgia, has officially committed to Alabama.

Branch was sought after by Oklahoma and Tennessee as well as the in-state option in 3-9 Georgia Tech, but, as they often do, Alabama won out.

At 6-1 and 185 pounds, Branch is a bigger safety who can cover plenty of ground in a deep zone. That should serve him well in a Nick Saban defense.

Scouting reports on Branch have even compared him to Eddie Jackson, a former Tide safety currently starring with the Chicago Bears. Not bad at all.

Saban and the Tide continue to serve as a factory that pumps out defensive backs to the professional ranks with regularity, and Branch just might be the next in line.
