Oklahoma State head football coach Mike Gundy is an interesting individual. He rocks a mullet and is known around the country as the guy who screamed that he was a man when he was 40, and would likely scream something similar once more if given the chance today.

He also coaches at a school that is still holding out hope to have fans in attendance in 2020. In fact, Oklahoma State wants to have no restrictions in terms of football attendance for the upcoming season.

This news provides optimism for Cowboys fans. However, it may not even be possible, and does not seem like a smart idea upon examination.

There is also the question, of course, of whether it will be fair for some teams to have fans and others to play in front of empty stadiums. Yet that isn't stopping Oklahoma State, for now, as players are returning to campus soon, something Gundy has called for every step of the way, arguing against restrictions for his young and healthy players for quite a while.

At least he's consistent.

Gundy is a true "football guy," and it is right up his alley to get back to work during a pandemic. However, if state officials allow fans in the stands, any negative consequences from that move is on them.
