Clemson Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney didn't endear himself to the masses with his tone-deaf comments about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Well, Oklahoma State sideline boss Mike Gundy told Dabo to hold his beer while he stepped into the spotlight, slicking back his notorious mullet.

During a teleconference with the media on Tuesday, Gundy pleaded with the NCAA to come up with answers surrounding the upcoming season. Gundy continued by unwisely giving his opinion that he wants his players to return to campus because he believes they're young and have stronger immune systems to fight the virus.

No, this isn't a joke. The Cowboys coach actually said this to the media. Gundy seems to be overlooking the fact that young people merely carrying the illness is a problem. Just because they can "beat it" doesn't mean anything. They can spread it. Nonetheless, he doesn't care even if they get sick because he thinks they're "strong enough" to overcome it!

But perhaps the icing on this stupidity cake is Gundy stressing that the football program brings much-needed money to the state of Oklahoma. Yeah, Mike! We want money to come back too! The entire WORLD is suffering because of the pandemic!

Wait wait. Sorry. It gets dumber!

This is why we can't have nice things.

Gundy is aiming for his players to return to campus on May 1, but given the uncertainty surrounding the ongoing pandemic and the growing number of cases, there's no way to tell. We get it, coaches like Gundy want to continue to do their job and prepare their team for the upcoming campaign (whenever that is), but if public health and medical officials aren't giving the green light, then it's just not wise to go back to our everyday lives.

All those strong immune systems will just have to keep staying in shape during the quarantine.
