The Oklahoma Sooners were already major underdogs in the upcoming Peach Bowl against No. 1 ranked LSU, but things just got even gloomier for the Sooners.

Up against Joe Burrow and the formidable LSU offense, the Sooners now find themselves down a starting member of their secondary, as safety Delarrin Turner-Yell is done for the year after suffering a broken collarbone.

Turner-Yell has been a key starter at safety this season as a sophomore. He recorded 75 tackles and have five tackles for loss.

The Sooners defense held opponents to an average of 24.5 points per game and will be going up against a LSU offense that averages nearly 48 points per game. They'll have a much tougher go of things without the talented safety. His eight tackles, and three for loss, in the Big 12 Championship Game illustrate why his absence is a major one.

Justin Broiles will now get the start in Turner-Yell's place. He only has 15 tackles this season and one for a loss. If the game against LSU is lost on a big play from Joe Burrow, Sooners fans may be wondering what could have been if the team was at full strength.
