Oklahoma football will have some mammoth shoes to fill for their upcoming College Football Playoff matchup against LSU Saturday. The team just announced Thursday morning that star safety Delarrin Turner-Yell will be out for the Peach Bowl due to his broken collarbone suffered recently in practice.

The sophomore safety has been a force in both the run and passing defense for Oklahoma defensive coordinator Alex Grinch all season, recording 75 total tackles - second-highest on the team, including eight in their Big 12 Championship matchup with Baylor, and three total passes defended on the year.

The man they call "trouble" is out with the collarbone injury, but to make matters worse, he doesn't think he'll be ready for spring football either.

The news is especially concerning considering who the Sooners' opponent is, and who will be lining up opposite them at quarterback. This year's Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow has proven all season he can pretty much do it all on the football field, but one of favorite balls to throw is the deep one, especially with recievers like Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase in his arsenal.

Riley said safeties Adrian Ealy and Brendan Radley-Hiles - both of whom went down with injuries in the game against Baylor, are doing fine, and he'll expect production from Justin Broiles as well.

For Turner-Yell, fans will likely have to wait until fall camp to see him in action once again.
