Buckeyes' defensive back Sevyn Banks did not play much during his first two seasons for Ohio State, totaling just 12 tackles and one interception in his college football career thus far. However, a new football season means a new Sevyn. Literally.

Recently, Ohio State linebacker Teradja Mitchell decided to switch his number from No. 7 to No. 3 for the upcoming season. Seeing the perfect opportunity, Banks took advantage of the situation and claimed the number that is his name, switching over from No.12.

What a perfect situation. Sevyn is wearing No. 7. This must be a sign that Banks will be incredible this year for Ohio State.

Banks apparently has teammate Chris Olave to thank, as his move from No. 2 to No. 3 opened up Mitchell's preferred option, leaving No. 7 available. Confusing, we know.

Banks clearly thinks he has a lot in the tank, releasing this hype video on his Twitter account recently for his followers to see.

Hopefully this exciting and clever change to his namesake will be enough to help Banks produce for the Buckeyes in 2020.
