We're starting to get a clearer picture of the ongoing Chase Young saga at Ohio State, and at the moment, the Buckeyes are preparing for their start to receive a ban-- and the timing couldn't be worse.

So, how long will Chase Young be suspended if he's confirmed to have engaged in improper conduct? Per OSU alum and ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit, the program is anticipating a four-game suspension for their superstar pass rusher in light of the allegedly improper loan he admitted to receiving while a member of the football team.

Including today's game against Maryland, a four-game term would wipe out the rest of the regular season for Young. If that is indeed the case, he'd be able to return for the Big Ten Championship and the College Football Playoff (if the Buckeyes keep up their winning ways without him, of course).

The Scarlet and Gray are a fearsome bunch here in 2019, but suffice to say they just won't be the same without that man who might just be their single best player.

Some experts have insisted that if Young can prove he repaid the loan he received, then his ban could be a brief one-- perhaps as little as a single game. But for now, Buckeyes football is bracing for a far less tidy situation than that.

The sincere hope is that it doesn't get worse as more details emerge.
