The New England Patriots appeared to be in deep trouble in regards to the videotaping scandal which saw a Robert Kraft-hired camera crew caught filming the Cincinnati Bengals sidelines during Week 14 of the regular season, which was the week before the two teams were scheduled to square off. Head coach Bill Belichick appeared to be in the middle of yet another SpyGate incident.

A new update regarding the NFL's investigation proves otherwise.

According to Mark Maske of the Washington Post, the NFL has yet to find any correlation between Belichick and the New England football staff surrounding the aforementioned controversy.

Manske continued, saying the league could wrap things up by the end of the week, and barring any last-second updates, the Patriots could be given a punishment related to that of game-day infractions. What that means is the Patriots would likely face a fine and/or a loss of draft pick.

However, that's all contingent on commissioner Roger Goodell's decision after he reviews all of the evidence put before him.

A camera crew hired by Kraft Sports Productions filmed an advance scout for New England's web series "Do Your Job." The credentialed videographer of the production company was then caught filming the Bengals sideline for eight consecutive minutes before being kicked out by Cincinnati security.

For those of you hoping the Patriots would face a severe punishment, we hate to burst your bubble, but it doesn't look like the investigation is trending in that direction.
