After canceling March Madness, it looks as though college sports as a whole are about to come to a complete standstill.

As the coronavirus outbreak continues to unfold, the NCAA has suspended recruiting across all sports, both on and off campuses, until at least April 15.

The move to hit the pause button on recruiting shows how serious the NCAA is about doing its part in mitigating the spread of the virus. At the very least, doing so throws a wrench into the future plans of programs across the nation.

Though it does mean a month without the drama of programs trying to edge each other out for the nation's next big sports stars, it's the right thing to do. It rightfully puts the health and safety of coaches, staffers, and prospective athletes alike above everything else.

Now, fans will just have to sit and hope that the suspension of recruitin,g in addition to all of the other measures taken by the NCAA and other sports leagues, produces the desired effect of slowing down the transmission of COVID-19.
