The MLB trade deadline has officially passed as of 4:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, and it's been a bit underwhelming as opposed to recent years. Even so, moves were made by teams in order to help in their playoff push. And there were others who did nothing.

Either way, here are the winners and losers of the MLB trade deadline.

6. Loser: Los Angeles Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers have a reputation of making huge acquisitions at the trade deadline. However, the Dodgers made minor transactions on Wednesday. First, they acquired Jedd Gyorko from the St. Louis Cardinals. Then, they traded for Adam Kolarek from the Tampa Bay Rays. Los Angeles was linked to Pittsburgh Pirates reliever Felipe Vazquez, who would have seriously helped their iffy bullpen. Instead, they backed off, without improving their already strong squad.

5. Winner: Cleveland Indians

The Cleveland Indians rode the fence when it came to ace pitcher Trevor Bauer. After a viral outburst on Sunday, the Indians opted to move Bauer to the Cincinnati Reds in a three-team trade with the San Diego Padres. In exchange for trading Bauer, the Indians brought in Yasiel Puig, Franmil Reyes, Logan Allen, Scott Moss, and Victor Nova. A huge haul for Cleveland that will definitely help in their playoff push.

4. Loser: New York Yankees

Leading up to the deadline, the New York Yankees were plagued by injuries and shoddy pitching from their starters. Many expected the Yankees to do what they normally do, and that's to get a big name. General manager Brian Cashman refused to part with his top prospects, and as a result, only got minor league pitcher Alfredo Garcia from the Colorado Rockies. The Yankees simply needed to make a splash to help build on their AL East lead...and they failed to do so.

3. Winner: Atlanta Braves

The NL East-leading Atlanta Braves needed to improve their shaky bullpen on Wednesday, and they did just that. Atlanta acquired the biggest reliever on the market in Shane Greene from the Detroit Tigers, while also bringing in Mark Melancon from the San Francisco Giants and Chris Martin from the Texas Rangers. The super bullpen has been the big trend in Major League Baseball, and the Braves created one leading into the final months of the season.

2. Loser: Boston Red Sox

Nothing? Nothing at all? That's right, the Boston Red Sox stood pat at the deadline, despite having a desperate need for bullpen arms. The Red Sox have tallied 19 blown saves this season after letting Craig Kimbrel and Joe Kelly walk in free agency. General manager Dave Dombrowski's response? He said he would've made a move if the Red Sox were higher up in the standings. While Boston's hitting is fantastic, their bullpen will hold them back in their pursuit of a postseason berth.

1. Winner: Houston Astros

Leave it to the Houston Astros to put in all the chips in their chase for their second-ever World Series title. The Astros made the splash of all splashes by acquiring Arizona Diamondbacks ace Zack Greinke. Not only that, but they acquired Aaron Sanchez and Joe Biagini from the Toronto Blue Jays, and Martin Maldonado from the Chicago Cubs. Entering the final two months of the season, the Astros will have a starting rotation comprised of Greinke, Sanchez, Justin Verlander, Gerrit Cole, and Wade Miley. On paper, the Astros are World Series favorites, and that makes them the big winners of the MLB trade deadline.
