MLB Provides Ridiculously Weak Explanation for Dodgers' Kenley Jansen Timeout Call vs Yankees

Aarone Boone and his savages are NOT going to like this. In the wake of the weekend's series at Chavez Ravine that pitted the hometown Dodgers against the New York Yankees, tempers in the Bronx and beyond are still flaring over a bizarre turn of events Saturday. With tying run Gleyber Torres leaving third base and headed for home in the ninth, LA closer Kenley Jansen was granted an egregious timeout call that wiped off the board what should have been an obvious run.

Well, the Yanks naturally protested to the league. And the MLB's response? Decidedly lame.

Nope, this isn't going to ease any tensions whatsoever.

An epic showdown between the teams that had (at the time) the two best records in baseball should have not, under any circumstances, been wracked by such a blunder. It's more than clear that Jansen's timeout appeal was far too late to have been granted, and that the Yankees were victimized significantly as a result. Just watch for yourself.

Is a "my bad" sufficient in this situation? Hell no. If anything, Rob Manfred and Saturday's umpiring crew owes every member of the Yankee roster and front office a half-hour foot massage. And pie baskets. And "Hamilton" tickets.

Sheesh, Major League Baseball. This stuff isn't hard. Can we even consider this problem to be fixed? If anything, there's even more confusion as to what happens if this situation ever pops up again.
