Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky had an up and down year, resulting in the once-favored team in the NFC North missing out on the playoffs entirely, clouding the QB's future. Once the regular season ended, the third-year quarterback took care of some business.

According to ESPN's Jeff Dickerson, Trubisky underwent surgery to repair a partially torn labrum in his left, non-throwing shoulder, just after the season concluded.

The procedure was described as minor, and has a recovery time of a couple of months, so Trubisky should be good to go for OTAs this spring.

Trubisky has been no stranger to the injury bug this past campaign. Back in Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings, the quarterback suffered a dislocated left shoulder, resulting in the slight labrum tear.

In Week 11 versus the Los Angeles Rams, Trubisky was pulled from the game late with a hip injury, which was described as minor. He missed no time, as he started the very next week.

All injuries aside, Trubisky concluded his third season by throwing for 3,138 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, to the tune of a 63.2 completion percentage.

2020 will be a crucial year for Trubisky and the Bears organization. If he performs up to par, he'll earn himself an extended stay in Chicago. If not, he'll likely be sent packing, along with others (notably in the front office).

Trubisky hopes this shoulder surgery will result in the former.
