Mike Leach Could Be in Trouble for Calling His Players Fat and Dumb

We don't have to tell you Mike Leach is one of the more animated and outspoken head coaches in college football.

The Washington State boss quite literally has no filter and that temperament, more often than not, lands him in trouble. Well, the 58-year-old head man was back to it again after his Cougars were thumped 38-13 by No. 19 Utah on Saturday night.

Leach described his players as "fat, dumb, happy, and entitled" following the defeat and the outburst should be enough to land him in some heat.

"And what’s amazing about this is that most of these guys were on the same team last year that was a tough team," said Leach. "Last year’s team was a tough team for us. And we got nearly the same guys. All of the sudden they’re not tough. They’re fat, dumb, happy and entitled.”

Of course, the L stood as Washington State's second consecutive one, as they blew a 49-17 third quarter lead against UCLA last weekend in humiliating fashion, so Leach's emotions were clearly running high on Saturday.

However, there is just no rationalization possible for him to call out his players like this. And no, we don't buy the notion that he's conveying the "tough love" coaching method, either. There is palpable disdain in this quote, folks.

This chastisement should have been kept within the confines of Washington State's locker room, not in the postgame press conference for millions to voice their opinion on it.

Did Leach say anything THAT offensive? No, absolutely not. However, the world is sincerely sensitive nowadays and the HC could be dealt some repercussions for not keeping his emotions in tact.
