After a long wait, Carlos Beltran was announced as the New York Mets' manager. And now the team is looking to assemble a new coaching staff to go with the rookie skipper.

One name who the Amazins have considered is former skipper Terry Collins. The Mets have reportedly discussed the idea of bringing Collins back as the team's bench coach.

Collins was the Mets' manager from 2011-2017, leading the team to a World Series in 2015. He had a 551-583 record across seven seasons in New York, making the playoffs twice.

While his tenure as the manager wasn't exemplary, he's still an esteemed coach who could bring a ton of experience to the Mets bench and aid in the development of their young prized assets such as Pete Alonso and Jeff McNeil.

In all, Collins has 13 years of managerial experience, something which could serve the Mets well with a rookie skipper taking the reins.

Collins has remained close to the organization, operating in recent years as a special assistant, so this hire is certainly not out of the realm of possibility.
