The Los Angeles Lakers don't look like a team desperate for another star player, but the wandering eyes of LeBron James could lead to a trade that lands them a superstar of Damian Lillard's caliber.

The Portland Trail Blazers star is under contract for the next five seasons, and his deadly shooting would be a perfect addition to a Lakers team riding James and Anthony Davis to success inside.

Lillard will make $31 million in 2020-21, and his upcoming supermax will pay him at least $43 million in each of the following four seasons. To make the financials work out, the contracts of Danny Green ($15.3 million), Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ($8.4 million), Avery Bradley ($5 milllion), and Kyle Kuzma ($3.5 million) would need to go to Portland. A first-round pick and a second-rounder would need to be tossed in for good measure.

While Portland would start the CJ McCollum era with some extra shooters in Green and Bradley and a potential second star in the front court with Kuzma, the Lakers would form another Big 3 with James, Davis and Lillard.

Could you imagine Lillard and LeBron working together? It'd be one of the most-deadly pairings in the NBA. Who knows, with a little bit of magic, the Los Angeles front office might be able to pull something off.
