Superstar Kevin Durant is leaving Golden State to take his talents to the Brooklyn Nets, but he will not be going alone. KD will be accompanied by fellow superstar Kyrie Irving who is coming from Boston. Many speculated that these two would pull off a package deal for wherever they decided to go, but how much did that impact KD's final decision?

Well according to Yahoo Sports NBA insider Chris Haynes, Durant didn't feel comfortable joining a team, the Knicks specifically, by himself.

Haynes goes on to say that the decision came from Kyrie's change of course away from the Knicks and his increased comfort with the Nets. The information quickly made its way to Durant, who ultimately did not feel comfortable as a lone wolf.

Kevin Durant will sit out this upcoming season due to an Achilles tear, but is expected to return for the following season for the Nets.

Until that time, the Nets will be Kyrie's team, but insiders speculate that if Durant returns to full force, he will be the one to take the reins.

The Nets will look to be steady in the East but are unlikely to be true contenders until Durant's return.

The dynamic will be interesting between the two superstars who have both made a point of wanting to be their own man and control their team. But we'll just have to wait and see how everything works out between the two and the organization. Clearly they had a plan here, so let's wait and see how it unfolds.
