BREAKING: Kevin Durant to Reportedly Sign With Brooklyn Nets

This is about as official as it gets, folks.

With rumors swirling that the Brooklyn Nets had received a commitment of sorts from Kevin Durant that he intends on signing a max deal in 2019 free agency just across the bridge from Manhattan, Adrian Wojnarowski can report it as fact.

This, we can all agree, is a Woj nuclear bomb. So much for Durant's "official" announcement.

Durant adds yet another threat to a Brooklyn team which was already expected to land Kyrie Irving in free agency. Although he cannot play next season due to an Achilles injury suffered in the postseason, the addition of KD to Brooklyn makes the Nets an instant championship contender upon his return.

Heading to Brooklyn can also do wonders for Durant's legacy among the all-time greats. While joining the Warriors left some fans with a bad taste in their mouths despite the two titles KD won in the Bay Area, adding a championship in Brooklyn, of all places, will etch Durant's name alongside some of the best to ever play the game, if he wasn't in the upper echelon already.
