Before Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant changed the landscape of the NBA by teaming up in Brooklyn, Kawhi Leonard had visions of a team-up of his own in Los Angeles.

Reports suggest Leonard reached out to both Irving and Durant in hopes of getting one of the two to join him on the Clippers.

Clearly, neither Irving or Durant were interested in such a collaboration, but Kawhi found his guy. Paul George was traded from the Thunder to the Clippers in a deal involving a record five first-round picks, two pick swaps, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Danilo Gallinari.

The move to the Clippers caps a seismic shift in the NBA power balance this offseason that sees a number of teams sporting a competitive roster.

In the West, the Clippers, Lakers, Jazz, Rockets, Nuggets, Warriors and Trailblazers are favored for playoff spots.

Meanwhile, the East features strong rosters on the Nets, 76ers, Bucks, Raptors, Celtics and Pacers. That's 13 teams that could realistically be among the last four teams remaining come next season's playoffs.

Leonard toppled the Warriors dynasty with a championship in Toronto. Now, he'll look to replace the Warriors as the team to beat out west.
