Julian Edelman Opens Up on Patriots' Waiting Game With Josh Gordon
By Will Fowler

When the New England Patriots acquired troubled wide receiver Josh Gordon, many expected Bill Belichick and Co. to whip him into shape, get his head in the right place, and turn him into a productive receiver again.
And for a while, he was -- in 11 games, he had 40 catches for 720 yards and three touchdowns, emerged as a solid receiver for the Patriots, and stayed out of trouble.
That was, until he got suspended indefinitely for violating the league's substance abuse policy again.
As of this afternoon, an NFL spokesman said the league still does not have an update on the status of Patriots WR Josh Gordon’s indefinite suspension. Specifically, I asked if there’s a timeline for a review of the suspension. Pats report for training camp five weeks from today.

With Gordon's return to football still without a time stamp, fellow wide receiver Julian Edelman opened up about Gordon's health, recovery, and talent.
"I'm wishing him the best. It's a life situation and you're pulling for him... and selfishly, I want him because he's a really good football player and he can help us," said Edelman on Pardon My Take.

Gordon was also recently seen on Tom Brady's instagram, working out and fielding passes from the quarterback. Ever-optimistic, some Patriots fans are seeing this as a sign that Gordon's return may be closer than we think.
Regardless of when Josh Gordon can step onto a field again, his story is one of the strangest in recent memory. Here's to hoping he gets himself figured out and can just focus on football.
