VIDEO: 5-Star DE Jordan Burch Ends the Drama and Signs With South Carolina

The South Carolina Gamecocks appeared to sign 5-star defensive end recruit Jordan Burch on National Signing Day. He declared his intention to join the program, but then avoided questions and no official announcement was made.
Then news broke that his mother was reportedly holding up his decision and there were no reasons provided as to why this was happening. Thankfully for Gamecocks fans, the drama is over. Burch is headed to Columbia.

Burch is a top defensive end recruit who is one of the top-10 high school players in the country, according to 247sports. That is why the delay from when he donned a South Carolina cap to the program actually announcing the signing alarmed fans.
Competing in the SEC with Georgia, LSU and Alabama is tough enough. Losing a hometown commit is unthinkable, especially when that talent is the No. 2 player at his position in the nation. Burch has earned Jadeveon Clowney comparisons, and frankly we can see why.
While things are still blurry, as it has been with this entire recruitment, it is pretty clear that Jordan Burch wants to be a #Gamecock. However, something is holding Mom back from allowing Jordan to fax the NLI in. Updates here are few and far between, but the story rolls on.

Fans may never know why the announcement was actually delayed. As is the case with college football recruiting, high school kids are predictably unpredictable.
All that matters now is that he is indeed going to South Carolina to help a team that went 4-8 under Will Muschamp in 2019.
