The Houston Astros have yet to band together as one and issue any sort of statement showing remorse for the cheating scandal that has led to the dismissal of AJ Hinch, Jeff Luhnow, and Carlos Beltran. Houston Sports Executive of the Year (somehow) and Astros owner Jim Crane has a date in mind for when the franchise will make amends.

Crane is reportedly planning for the Astros to apologize as a team for their sign stealing scandal that calls into question the validity of the franchise's lone championship in 2017. He said on Tuesday that players will apologize during Spring Training.

You know...any of the players implicated could have come out and apologized. If anything, being upfront and direct about it would have been more respectable than all this crypticness.

Alex Bregman even had microphones stuck in his face a few days ago, and all he offered was PR-crafted statements that wound around to "I don't want to talk about this." That, Alex, is how you keep getting people to hate on the Astros.

The Astros might be trying to save face by offering up this to try and shut us all up, but the fact that not one player has come out and acknowledged their wrongdoing shows that either there is no accountability within that organization or they really don't care and are more upset that they got caught than they are embarrassed they tarnished the integrity of the game.

Or both.
