Jake Marisnick Tweets Heartfelt Message to Houston After Trade to Mets

Jake Marisnick was traded to the Houston Astros back in 2014, one year after making his MLB debut with the Miami Marlins.
He went on to be a regular in the Houston lineup and it came as a bit of a surprise when he was traded to the New York Mets earlier this week. Trades are never easy and Marisnick took the classy route by expressing his gratitude to the Houston fans.
Houston! For 6 years you showed me love and support through the good times and the bad. We have been though so much together and I am forever grateful for the fans, my coaches, teammates and the entire Astros organization. From the bottom of my heart thank you ❤️

It's easy to be grateful after being on such a competitive team and reaching the pinnacle of baseball with a World Series title. He was injured for that 2017 postseason, but no one can take away his championship ring.
Marisnick represents the type of player championship teams need to have on the roster. He was never an All-Star and does not come up in national headlines. What he did do was provide a cheap and reliable option for the Astros in the outfield.
Was looking for the classic ice cream pic of Jake Marisnick & found so many other good ones. Clubhouse guy, best OF defense I’ve seen in Houston with or without Tal’s Hill and the reason the Cupid Shuffle was created. See you in Port St. Lucie next spring, Jake. pic.twitter.com/eM1GyC3kfT

Not every player can get major money, but that does not mean they aren't just as important in the nine-man lineup.
He is now heading to the Mets seeking a long-term deal and projects to feature in the outfield in Flushing. Marisnick never had a WAR below 1.2 with the Astros so he should be able to get some sort of extension with the Mets.
