Medical Concerns Surrounding a Number of Top Prospects Could Shake up the NFL Draft
By Andrew Gullotta

Many of the biggest questions that surround prospects before the NFL Draft tend to be health-related. This year, there are some truly intriguing ones right at the top of the first round.
NFL.com insiders Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport detailed five players that could see a potential tumble down draft boards due to injury concerns, and the list is highlighted by star Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

South Carolina defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw and Clemson wide receiver Tee Higgins are also flagged for similar reasons.
Before their respective injuries, these three prospects were all expected to be selected extremely high. Now, there's some chaos at work throws their outlooks into some doubt.
As the injury concerns hang low over this week's proceedings, there may be some surprises that shake up the draft. It is not out of the question that Tagavailoa could fall and become the third or fourth quarterback taken due to hip problems; the same can be said for Kinlaw and Higgins, who may tumble out of the first round entirely if enough team medical staffs have serious doubts.
Former Dolphins VP of football ops @RealTannenbaum (ESPN) on if he would draft Tua Tagovailoa at No. 5: "No way. Not in the top 10. I can't. Not with this injury this year. This is a very complicated injury."

However, there is some good news about falling down draft boards -- these players could end up in good situations with contending teams. These injury concerns may be a blessing in disguise, as much as it might hurt their short-term earning potential due to rookie contract rules.
Seriously, what if Tua fell to the Patriots? A pick like this could set New England up for another dynasty. Look other draft surprises throughout NFL history -- like when former MVP Aaron Rodgers fell to the Packers at 24. Moves like these will not only shake up this year's draft. but perhaps the whole league for years to come.
Draft day shake-ups can alter destinies. Prepare for a surprise or two come Thursday night.
