GSU QB Arrested for Having Cocaine-Laced White Substance on His Car That He Claims Was Bird Poop
By Kevin Aquino

What a wild week for Shai Werts. The Georgia Southern quarterback was suspended from team activities due to having cocaine on the hood of his car.
According to Werts, however, it was bird poop.
The 21-year-old junior was pulled over for driving 80 mph on July 31, which is when the mysterious white substance was discovered by police. Werts apparently went to a car wash a couple of days earlier to try and clean off the supposed bird poop.

Werts was charged with misdemeanor cocaine possession and speeding, and was reinstated to the team after passing a drug test. Werts is still suspended for Georgia Southern's opener against LSU at the end of this month, but at least he's able to suit up afterward.
More on Shai Werts situation. Per Student-Athlete Code of Conduct, the misdemeanor charge carries one game suspension. If the charge is dropped or Werts is found not guilty , punishment if any would be handled by @GSAthletics administration @WJCLNews

The Eagles put together a 10-3 record last year, going 6-2 in the Sun Belt Conference in 5-1 at home. While that's a quality year in the NCAA, it doesn't compare to the story that Werts has to tell for the rest of his life.
