Gleyber Torres Should Use All-Star Snub as Motivation for Even Stronger 2nd Half
By Jared Kish

Gleyber Torres has had a great season so far for the Yankees. It feels like he has been one of the few Yankees to avoid a trip to the IL, and has suited up every time Aaron Boone penciled his name into the lineup.
As that maybe the case, Torres' .295 batting average and 19 home runs weren't enough for him to get voted for the All-Star game this year. To add to that, the Yankees second basemen didn't even the nod when Tommy La Stella needed to be replaced due to a tibia injury. Instead, Brandon Lowe and Xander Bogaerts were called upon to represent the American League, once again leaving Torres on the outside looking in.
Cleveland bound!

There's no doubt that Gleyber clearly got snubbed by not being voted as an All-Star, or even a replacement, but he should use that as fuel to have an explosive second half.
Torres hasn't reached his full potential yet as a big leaguer and is still only 22-years old. The Yankees second basemen seems to be getting better by the month as he has batted .292 over his last 30 games and .347 over his last 15.
Gleyber Torres, who is slashing .295/.363/.544 with 19 home runs, 14 doubles and 48 RBI, was not named as a substitute for the American League All Star team. He should've been on the initial list to begin with, let alone being left off completely

Torres belongs in this years All-Star game, but unfortunately, he has to sit this one out. Look for Gleyber to come out of the All-Star break firing on all cylinders and proving to the league he deserved to be in Cleveland for the midsummer classic.
