Georgia was scheduled to play San Jose State in the 2021 season. However, after paying San Jose State $1.8 million to cancel the matchup, the Bulldogs have cleared a game on their schedule to face off against a former College Football National Championship winner.

The Georgia Bulldogs will face the Clemson Tigers on a neutral site to open their 2021 season.

The Bulldogs have to pay a buyout fee with San Jose State as it is part of the contract the teams agreed on in 2017. This buyout has allocated a spot for another game, which the Tigers will fill in.

The matchup between these two highly-coveted football programs will be in Charlotte N.C. at the Bank of America Stadium. Head coaches Dabo Swinney and Kirby Smart have done their part in recruiting to make this an anticipated contest as they have a total of nine 5-star commits for the 2020 class.

It is also expected to see new faces under center for both teams for the 2021 season. Georgia's Jake Fromm has declared for the 2020 draft and it is expected that Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence will pass up his final year of eligibility for the 2021 NFL Draft.

Georgia and Clemson have been two of the top programs in college football for the past couple of years and with their incoming talented recruits, their 2021 game has the potential to be a classic.
