Former Florida Gators Safety Tony Joiner Arrested for Allegedly Murdering His Wife
By Brian Cass

The Florida Gators of the late-aughts already have a troubled reputation, most notably "highlighted" by Aaron Hernandez's murder conviction. Now, Tim Tebow's old roommate, safety Tony Joiner, is under fire for reportedly monstrous behavior.
The death of Joiner's wife on Valentine's Day in 2016 has gone unsolved for three years now. But three years later, authorities have finally arrested Joiner himself for the murder.

The death of Joiner's wife, Heyzel Obando, was ruled a homicide two months after the body was recovered, yet no determination was made as to the culprit.
On Saturday, Joiner was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in Lake Wales, Florida.
The Aaron Hernandez case had already tarnished the 2007 Florida Gators legacy, and this latest news will cast an even bigger shadow on that championship team. The fact that Joiner was Tim Tebow's roommate makes this all the more surprising as well.
I need a 30 for 30 on this team.. Tim Tebow, Cam Newton - Kicked off team, Aaron Hernandez - Double Murder/Suicide, Tony Joiner - Murder, and Riley Cooper - Racist.... and still won the national title.

We'll never understand how that '07 Gators team kept it together, and it's notable that this is yet another heinous act committed by a player once watched over by Urban Meyer.
Hopefully, the victim's family can now rest.
