Former Auburn QB Joey Gatewood Transfers to Kentucky
By Mark Powell

Give Mark Stoops credit, he's not done building up the Kentucky football program just yet.
The Wildcats managed a 7-5 record this season despite playing converted WR Terry Wilson at quarterback, a move that proved vital just this past week in a rivalry matchup against Louisville.
Kentucky's QB room will be crowded next year with seasoned signal-callers, including Auburn transfer Joey Gatewood, who announced his intention to sign in Lexington via Twitter.

Gatewood lost the starting job to Bo Nix before the season began. It's unknown whether or not he'll have to sit out a year, but it might be wise for eligibility reasons. Gatewood is the former No. 3 QB in the 2018 recruiting class, and the highest-rated quarterback to head to Lexington since Tim Couch.
Kentucky is now set at quarterback for the next few years, as Wilson and former starter Sawyer Smith are returning next season to battle for the starting job. As for the future, Gatewood and Beau Allen will take the torch when called upon.
Former Auburn QB Joey Gatewood just announced he will transfer to Kentucky. For the flack the SEC East gets, Georgia is a Top 5 program, Florida and Tennessee are vastly improved and Kentucky is recruiting/winning at historic levels. Lot of good football ahead in that division
