When Tyson Fury landed at the Manchester Airport on Tuesday, he was welcomed home the unmistakable roar of feverish, exuberant fans. Hundreds of well-wishers lined up to greet the Gypsy King as he returned home following his famous TKO victory over Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas, and we really should expect nothing less from fight fans in the UK.

"Thank you, everybody, for coming to support me," Fury told the crowd. "God bless!"

The crowd had to wait 14 months to congratulate Fury as the WBC heavyweight champion of the world after he and Wilder fought to a controversial split draw in their first meeting. In Saturday's rematch, however, Fury gave all of his supporters every reason to cheer with a seven-round victory of his American opponent that saw him deliver two knockdowns and force Wilder's corner to throw in the towel.

A third meeting between Fury and Wilder is all but inevitable at this point. If and when that happens, expect the fans in the UK to continue to move as one in a merry mob.

“I need to enjoy this victory, and Deontay needs time to recover. But I’m almost sure he’ll take the rematch because he’s a dynamite puncher and he can take someone out at any time." Fury said.
