Evgeni Malkin and the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the San Jose Sharks in their first of back-to-back Stanley Cup runs in 2016. Turns out he's not done taking shots at San Jose just yet.

The Penguins star, prominently featured at Worlds for Russia, took some time to discuss the Sharks and their current Cup run. Malkin went as far as to call the Sharks lucky, given all the calls they've received (especially the controversial ones) in their three series thus far.

Malkin is clearly only joking in this matter, but there's a hint of truth to what he's saying. The Sharks were the beneficiary on a five-minute major in Game 7 against the Vegas Golden Knights, in which they overcame a 4-goal deficit. In Game 3 against the Blues in the Western Conference Finals, San Jose also won on a clear hand-pass in overtime, yet it went uncalled and wasn't reviewed by officials.

All of this is sketchy to say the least, but it's more the result of inept officiated than anything else.

The Sharks don't like being called lucky, and it's definitely seen as a shot at the skill this side has in all facets of the game. But it's a joke at this point. They ought to take it lightly.
