LeSean McCoy is near the end of his rope in the NFL, but that hasn't stopped a few of his old teammates from trying to get him one last gig with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Veterans like Lane Johnson and DeSean Jackson, both of whom played with McCoy when he led the league in rushing in 2013, have openly expressed their desire for Howie Roseman to bring McCoy back home to Philly despite the fact that their roster doesn't have a place for him at the moment.

McCoy had some impressive moments with the Chiefs last year, but it became clear that Damien Williams was the only logical choice for the RB1 spot in Kansas City.

The Eagles have one of football's best young backs in Miles Sanders, who recorded 1,327 yards from scrimmage despite sharing time with Jordan Howard. With Sanders established and Corey Clement back in the fold, signing McCoy doesn't make a ton of sense.

McCoy was magnificent in his day, but the Eagles need to either ride with Sanders unequivocally or sign someone with more juice left in the tank than the aging McCoy. Trying to get the band back together by signing Eagles greats of yesteryear would be counterproductive.
