After reportedly shopping their first-round draft picks around the NFL, San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch is "trying to find Marquise [Goodwin] a good home." If reports are to be believed, that new home could be in Philadelphia. For the Eagles, that's a win-win situation.

The Eagles desperately need receivers. They're likely going to draft one on Thursday night, but the issue of depth isn't going to be solved by one young player. Goodwin is a veteran who can stretch the field, and the Eagles won't have to break the bank to get him.

Goodwin carries a cap hit of $4.9 million in San Francisco. He's not an expensive player, and his price tag is certainly tolerable for a depth guy. For Philly, he's a low-risk, high reward player. He's only eclipsed 300 yards in three of his seven years in the NFL, but nobody expects him to be a workhorse. Goodwin adds value with his speed.

Sure, the Eagles have DeSean Jackson, but D-Jax is one of the oldest players in the NFL. Goodwin is a burner who can be targeted on the occasional deep ball to complement Jackson and share the load. He's far from one of the best in the league at it, but with Philadelphia's sorry receiving corps, every player counts.

Pairing Jackson and Goodwin could be a good combination to stretch the field on offense, and it would be a great way to keep the heat off of whatever young receiver they draft on Thursday. It could also turn out poorly, but at such a low cost, it's really a nonissue.
