Eagles and Alshon Jeffery Agree to Restructured Contract

Alshon Jeffery just got an advance on his salary.
On Saturday, the Philadelphia Eagles and Jeffrey agreed to restructure his current contract, turning his base salary for 2020 into a signing bonus that is now fully guaranteed.
The #Eagles and WR Alshon Jeffrey agreed to terms on a contract restructure that takes $11.75M this year and turns most of it into a signing bonus, source said. Most importantly, this means $11.5M next year is now fully guaranteed. Previously he had no guaranteed money for 2020.

Jeffrey wasn't owed any guaranteed money for next season, so that's a nice change for the Eagles veteran receiver as he now has some financial stability in his deal.
The 29-year-old wideout was drafted in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. He'll be entering his third season with the Eagles, and just the second season of a four-year, $52 million he signed with them a few years back.
There was belief that Philadelphia might be moving on from Jeffrey after they drafted J.J. Arcega-Whiteside in the second round of the draft this year, but this decision ensures that Jeffrey will be around for a while longer.
