Auburn is still getting some revenge after an Alabama fan poisoned and killed the oak trees at Toomer's Corner in 2011.

Harvey Updyke, the man responsible for the poisoning, is scheduled to return to court in late October for failing to pay fines towards the crime he committed.

Updyke will appear in court to explain to a judge why he has not kept up with his payments of a fine of just under $800,000. It's reported that Updkye has paid less than $5,000 towards that total since receiving that penalty in 2013, causing suspicion among law enforcement in Alabama.

Toomer's Corner is the hub of Auburn celebration, but has experienced vandalism in recent history. First, it was Updyke poisoning the trees, causing the soil and trees to be replaced entirely. Then, those new trees were burnt down, only to be replaced by two full-grown oak trees.

Updyke is being watched closely in Alabama, and if he does not report for court, he could face even more jail time.

Given the circumstances, it's unlikely Updyke provides an effective enough explanation for the judge as to why he has not paid his fine, especially considering he got tickets and went to an Alabama game in November.
